Epson Epson Stylus Color 660

Epson 660, New Print Head + Epson Cartridges - No

Hi folks,

Just installed new Print Head and new Epson cartridges into my Epson 660 because the quality had degraded, but now I can't get any print out at all, even though the print carriage is moving as if it was printing.

Have tried cleaning several times now, but to no avail.

Anyone any ideas?

ae1...FIRST: Be sure that you have the correct Printhead Assembly, #F059000 installed in your "660 Printer. An Epson Stylus Color "670" uses a different Printhead assembly, #F077000...SECOND: Check to make sure that the Ribbon Cable is fully installed into the Printhead Assembly and that the other end is seated properly into the Main Board Assembly. If the cable is ok, then its possible that no electrical signals are getting to the Printhead Assembly, from the Main Board Assembly. You may have either a bad/failing Printhead Assembly, Main Board Assembly or even the Ribbon Cable...Denny Conway

ae1...FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION: I checked and you will need to try and find a Service Manual to buy for your printer, to use to perform several different adjustments that are REQUIRED, after replacing the Printhead Assembly. You need to perform: head voltage I.D. input/setting; printhead angle adjustment; initial ink charge; bi-directional adjustment...EXAMPLE: Head I.D. enables you to write printhead voltage I.D. into the specific address of the EEPROM Chip. This operation is considered the most important to maintain proper ink discharge system...Sorry for the bad news! Denny Conway

As Denny stated you will need to set the head voltage for your new print head. The service program will allow you to do this.

The program and manual are not expensive but will show you all the adjustments that are needed. Without proper adjustments you printer will not perform properly.

Can anyone tell me where I can locate replacement print as I damaged mine foolishly while tring to clean printer and printhead assy. I damaged ribbon on print head now it only gives me a few drops of ink and no pattern control

Denny: Thank you all for the help and info, I did try a last ditch efford to fix it my self with limited results, I refused the ribbon going to the printhead circuit board with a clean tip from my weller soldering station which gained me some image but I will have to replace the printhead or printer which may give me the most for my money. once again thank you all for the help
