Hp HP DeskJet 670C

There's a Woodpecker in my HP Deskjet 670C

This printer was working fine up until a few months ago. 9 out of 10 times I get "bang, bang, bang" or "click, click, click" when it's preparing to print, then it jams and I get printer mechanism error.

1 out of 10 times it will actually print, but the Woodpecker is banging and clicking during the entire print process.

How can I get this sucker out of there?
Down with woodpeckers!! Get rid of them by cleaning the carriage shaft with alcohol and lubricating it with a few drops of Tri-Flow. Get the 2 oz. squeeze bottle at a cycle shop.

The cause of the problem may be that the printer's clutch actuator is disengaged.
