Apple Apple StyleWriter II

Apple laserwriter ls

Hi Moe,

I have just bought a 2nd hand Personal Laserwriter LS for my G4 Powerbook. I needed to get a Belkin USB Dual Serial Adaptor for it to work. The first thing the printer gave back to me was the error -
"Error in the Personal Laserwriter LS printer, Scanner Motor Malfunction. Contact an authorised service provider"

I have read the other forum from Jim and I was making sure that the laserwriter II Repair Kit was the right Kit for my model of printer.

I eagerly await your response.

Regards

Simon
This would be the right kit for you.

Can I use a personal laser writer LS with an Imac G3? If so, where would I get the adaptor and the correct driver for OSX?

Like Simon says, you need a Belkin USB Dual Serial adapter. I'd do a Google search on it. As for the driver, maybe apple.com ? I found this adapter that's a lot cheaper than the Belkin. Don't know if it will work or not, don't see why it shouldn't http://www.valuecables.com/ADA-USERIAL--18-162-100099.aspx
