HP 3150 Doesn't answer even though it says it does
Also I think the lead to the telephone socket might need replacing, sometimes it picks up a dial tone and sometimes it doesn't.
I have spoken to HP and to the company who installed the telephone system, I think you are right - I also suspect it is the telephone line. I have had a convertor fitted to our Goldstar 100 switch to solve some other telephone problems so hopefully that will cure this problem as well.
HP also suggested talking to the telephone company (BT) to ask for the "gain" to be increased on the line - do you think this is might be a possible cause?
