How to remove the cover from HP Lj 6p

Hi !

Does anybody know how to remove the cover of
the HP Lj 6p. Until now i removed the 4 screws at
the top of the printer and i removed the cover
from the memory expansion. Now I can slightly move
the cover on three of the four edges. The one
where it is still fixed is at the side where the
button for opening the top cover to remove the
toner is.

Make sure the rear door is open. On the left & right rear corners you'll see a triangular shaped section that you need to "twist" towards the outside and to the rear, while applying upward pressure (it's lots of fun!) Front tabs shud be released first, but you'll find the right one has a habit of reconnecting while you're working the rear ones. Like I said, it's fun, but you get the hang of it after awhile. Too bad it's not as easy as the manual makes it look, yet sometimes they just "pop" off. Once all released, just lift cover straight up. Reinstall takes about 5 seconds. Good Luck

Couple more tips. Make sure the cartridge lid is open. I find if you pull out at the center below the rear door and pull out on the right side so you clear the power switch helps. Like Ken said, you have to get the front unlatched first.
