Ibm IBM Laser Printer 4019

IBM 4019 E fuser error

I just got an old 4019 E that works fine except that I get an error code 9,2 which I know is a fuser error, after the printer sits idle for a few minutes. The fuse is OK and the lamp is OK. I'm thinking the thermister, near the fuse, is bad. How do I check it? Where can I get a new or used thermister?

Thermisters never go bad. If the printer is printing ok, but just goes bad when it goes to idle, it would probably be a bad controller board or whatever IBM called them.

By controller board are you talking about the main board on the right side of the printer, the one that the printer cable connects to? Do you have a used one?

I probably do have one. I'm not sure if it's a plain 4019 or the E one. I used to know what the differences were, but that was 10 years ago.
