Will not detect black ink cartridge
Using Black ink cartridge only, Printer start up ok, but will not identify that a new full ink cartridge is "ready" when I check it the ready light flashes once. Have tried unplugging it to clear memory. Printer is 22 years old. How do I tell it Cartridge Assembly is bad? is it worth replacing? Printer worked last week and this this problem started. Thanks for any help.
The first thing you can do is reset your printer's memory. Remove the new cartridge and put the old one back in and leave them there for a while. Then make the switch again to see if your printer now recognizes the ink cartridges
