Epson ET-2550/C462R "Flag Check Inspection: ON" message

After cleaning my printer (I can't find the model on the list - Epson *really* needs a few more fricking printer models!), and letting it update the firmware, it now comes on saying "Printer Mode" on the display instead of the normal icons, and if you press a button or two the screen goes red, says, "Flag Check / Inspection: ON Initial Charge: OFF Press [Power] BT". I don't know if "Flag Check means it thinks one of the sensor flags is stuck, or if it's asking me to exercise the sensors or what. I've spent hours looking for service manuals online with no luck. Tried some that seemed similar, but nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions?
