exit sensor

I did the replacement kit and it works fine until warmup (5-6 pages) then I get a rear exit jam or sensor failure with 1/3 of the paper sticking out. After clearing the paper path it will print another 2-3 pages then jams again. Is it the sensor failing due to heat? What is your thinking on this problem?

Does the paper under the toner cartridge have any print on it? If not, then the cause is a sticking paper feed solenoid. You can prove it by feeding the same job from the manual tray. That uses a different solenoid.

The paper exiting has print on it but the paper in front of the fuser is blank. If I remove the blank paper under the toner cartridge and press the test button two times the printed paper will successfully be cleared and the print buffer is erased or reset; Where is the paper feed solenoid located?

It is on the right side, under the cover. If you look at the pickup roller shaft, it would be at the end of it. There is one screw holding it in. If you pop off the spring loaded plate, you will see a gooey mess that used to be a foam damper. Scrape it off and replace with thin sticky back foam. You can get it at hardware store, the kind that goes on the bottom of a chair leg.

Thank you. I cleaned the MP tray solenoid and also the paper feed solenoid. Both were gummed up badly. I also replaced the D roller while I had that assemble out of the machine. Works great now.
