Prints thousands of horizontal lines
I have a 3100 LaserJet which I can still use to scan documents and fax, but when making copies or printing out any incoming faxes, I get only an output page covered from top to bottom with hundreds of perfectly spaced, thin horizontal lines going across the paper. The scanner must be OK since I can scan documents to fax, and I have changed out the toner cartridge, but it didn't help. The result is the same on anything that actually prints out, no matter what image is scanned, or if the source is an incoming fax.. Fortunately I have an extra 3100 I can rob for parts, and I have the ability to take the 3100 totally apart and put it together again. I just need to know the name of the part which is bad, and a photo or diagram would help also. Thank you. God bless. James G.
