The paper in my Brother HL-3170CDW just started wrinkling/dimpling while printing. I've checked everything the Brother site says to check to troubleshoot the issue (no jammed paper, proper paper quality, new ream, rotating/flipping the paper, checking the paper holders, etc. I can't see how it's happening and there's nothing obviously wrong. This is the same paper I've been using for months. The printer is about 16 months old. I recently put 4 new toner cartridges in, but it was printing fine after that for a few weeks. Any suggestions? What else can I check?
The only thing that causes wrinkling and dimpling is the fuser assembly. That is because that is the only place in the printer that the paper comes under pressure.
Thank you so much! I was able to confirm the issue with Brother and they sent out a technician to replace the fuser assembly.
Here is 1 of a series of video that shows the cause, and how to fix.
