Additional paper feed
Recently, after I print multiple pages, another page starts to feed through and then stops, causing a jam. I'm able to remove the additional paper but when I go to print another job, it happens again. Not just occasionally, but every time. Anyone have any ideas what needs repairing or replacing?
This is a follow up to my first post. I've done some experimenting and it seems I can't even print a single test page without a second page starting to feed through and stopping. Always at the same point - about three inches from the paper feed. It almost seems like it wants to print the page as a legal size - 8.5 X 14. I've checked all the settings I can find and everything thing is set to letter size. I'm going to uninstall the drivers and reinstall them to see if that fixes the problem. I'll get back here when I'm done. I'd welcome any suggestions in the mean time.
That's a sticking paper pickup roller problem. It is on the right side of the printer. You have to remove the cover, the formatter board and the gear assy. To access it. Once you get to it, you will see 2 solenoids. The front one is for the MF, the one behind is the paper pickup solenoid. You have to remove it, take off the spring loaded plate and scrape the goo off. I replace the gooey part with a thin piece of sticky backed felt.
Moe, thank you very much for the response and the explanation. So, it's a cleaning problem and not a replacing a broken part problem. Good. I hope I can find a video or something to show me how to get to and remove the formatter board and gear assembly. Thanks again.
