Can't see my NTR in the Chooser

Hi,

I am currently running System 8.5.1 on a G3. I have a Personal Laserwriter NTR which I have been trying print from it. I am
currently using Laserwriter 8 driver and I can't seem to see
the NTR selection in my chooser when I click on it. I would appreciate any help you can give.

Thanks,
Darrell

Are there any blinking idiot lights on the printer? If the green ready light is on, make sure the cable is firmly seated at both ends. Try a test page, you can initiate one by turning the printer off and selecting "4" on the logic board selector switch at the rear of printer. Turn printer on and it should print a page. If all this is ok, the problem could exist anywhere from the software driver to the formatter board in the printer. Try the cheapest stuff first as the formatter board is expensive and hard to find.

The PLW NTR has a PC port according to the specs (see
http://www.info.apple.com/info.apple.com/applespec/applespec.taf?cat=printer&RID=29
-- in fact even more PC options than my PLW NT. Presumably
it has a selector switch, probably a thumbwheel. Is
it in the correct position? On the PLW NT, it has
to be on 0.
