LJIIP Error 51

I bought the Error 52 kit, and replaced
the scanner motor assembly. Contrary to
what I expected, there was NO discoloration
of the attached board. Now I have Error
51 when I try to print on my LJIIP.

I have disassembled and reassembled the
printer about 5 times to check for loose
connections. During this time, I have been
able to print exactly one (1!) page.

I checked the optical fiber cable, and its
jacket has an indentation (crease) at the
place where it passes up through the plastic
guide. Would this account for the trouble
I am seeing?

What is the most reasonable way to go about
obtaining such a small part?

: SOUNDS LIKE YOU RECEIVED A BAD SCANNER MOTOR. YOU NEED TO TAKE IT BACK AND GET ANOTHER ONE.

A pinched fiber optic will account for a 51 error. A bad scanner motor will also sometimes cause a 51 error. I've never seen a new scanner motor that was bad in about 1000 that I've replaced. I guess I'll send you a fiber optic along with the pin you lost.
