Hp HP LaserJet 6L

HP LaserJet 6L Problem

Hi,
I have a 6L that when powered the bottom led comes on, then the middle one and then the upper one, but this last stays on (error led) and that's it. Nothing else happens. I already checked the cover, changed the toner and still nothing. Please, I need some help !!!
If just the top light is staying on, it means that it isn't seeing the toner cartridge, thinks the door is open or there is a paper jam. In my experience it is usually the last one. This is mostly caused by a stuck sensor arm. There are 2 of them. One is just below and to the left of the pickup roller (skinny black plastic arm). The other one that is usually the culprit is at the bottom of the fuser unit. Look for another skinny black plastic arm with a spring on it. This one usually gets dislodged when people clear a paper jam. You'll probably need a flashlight to see it. They both should be in the up position, they get pushed down when a sheet of paper passes over them. This in turn blocks an optical sensor and tells the printer engine where the paper is.

I found it ! I checked everything on the sensors and they were just fine. I started to tear apart everything and found that the white ceramic strip on the fuser is broken. Now to the best part, where do i get it ? Do you have it ? Thanks for all your help.

I just shipped my last one out on Friday. I knew I forgot to order something when I ordered stuff today. The way things are going, I order stuff twice a week. I'll have to remember to get more 6L fixing film assemblies. They're about $70 if I remember right. - moe
I too am having this same problem. However, I am not sure where to look for sensors. I am not seeing the skinny black plastic arm and am not sure what the fuser unit looks like. Could you be a little more exact for me. Sorry for my ignorance and thank you in advance for your help. - unknown
Doesn't anyone ever look beyond this message board? http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/reference/guides/sensors/ax
