skewed print on HP LaserJet 6L

I have an HP LaserJet 6L and within the past few months the print has become increasingly skewed. Using the manual tray worked for awhile but now that produces skewed print as well. Any ideas? HP's website lists a damaged paper tray as a possible problem--would this be something that could be repaired? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
All vertical feeders are more prone to skew problems. If you have the side guides snug against the sides of the paper, I doubt that the paper tray is at fault especially since it happens from both feeders. I would be more apt to blame the pickup roller and sep pads as the likely culprits in the skewing. The pickup roller could be grabbing the paper just a little unevenly. It don't take much, 1/100th of an inch skew at the beginning translates to over a 10th of an inch at the end. That's noticeable skew.
